As your campaign runs through your leads list, you may want to add fresh contacts to keep it going without starting from scratch. This is the correct way to do it, pausing the campaign, importing additional leads, and republishing, without losing any of your existing contact history or reply threads.

Do not delete your existing leads list when adding new leads.

Removing your current leads list deletes all email threads associated with those contacts, including any replies, conversations, and history. This cannot be undone. When importing additional leads, always add to the existing list rather than replacing it. Re-uploading the same leads later won't bring their Master Inbox messages or reply history back.

Step 1: Go to Campaigns

Click Campaigns in the left sidebar.

Step 2: Pause your campaign

Find your active campaign and click the three dot menu next to it. From the list that appears, select Pause.

Pausing immediately stops all sending for this campaign. Lead progress and campaign stats are kept, and you can edit the campaign while it is paused. Don't choose Stop: a stopped campaign can't be resumed.

Step 3: Open the campaign

Once the campaign is paused, click on the campaign name to open it.

Step 4: Go to the lead import step

Click the campaign name, or choose Edit from its row menu. The editor opens on step 1, Add Campaign Details, where you add leads.

Step 5: Import your additional leads

Import your new leads via Upload CSV or Import from order history. Do not remove or replace your existing leads list. Only add to it.

Click Import Leads to confirm.

To avoid pulling the same people out of Search again, keep Exclude previously ordered contacts turned on (it's on by default) when you export your new list.

​Step 6: Continue and republish

Continue through the campaign steps and republish. Your campaign will resume sending with the new leads added to your existing list.

Your campaign resumes with the new contacts added alongside your existing leads. All previous email threads and reply history are fully preserved. Your campaign continues sending as normal from where it left off.

What happens if I delete my existing leads list when adding new ones?
You lose those contacts’ email threads for good. See the warning section above.

Can I add leads to a campaign without pausing it?
No. You need to pause the campaign before you can access the lead import step. The campaign will resume automatically once you republish after adding your leads.

Will my existing contacts be affected when I add new leads?
No. Adding new leads does not affect contacts already in the campaign. They will continue through the sequence as normal.

How do I know my campaign has resumed after republishing?
Your campaign status will return to Active on the Campaigns page once it has been successfully republished.

Can I add leads from both a CSV and Order History at the same time?
Yes. You can import from both sources in the same session before clicking Import Leads to confirm.
