TL;DR

  • Adding your signature to campaigns is a two-step process

  • Step 1: set your signature on your sending inboxes inside Email Engine

  • Step 2: add %signature% in the body of your email sequence where you want the signature to appear

  • Do Step 1 before Step 2: your signature needs to be saved on your inboxes first

Step 1: Set your signature on your inboxes

Before adding a signature to your campaign sequence, you need to save it on your sending inboxes first.

Go to Email Engine in the left sidebar and click Inboxes.

Find the inbox you want to update, click the three dot menu on the right side of the row, and select Update Email Signature. Type your signature in the text field and click Save.

Repeat this for every inbox you want the signature applied to. You can also select multiple inboxes and use the Update Signature bulk action from the bottom bar to apply the same signature to all of them at once.

Step 2: Add %signature% to your campaign sequence

Once your signature is saved on your inboxes, open your campaign sequence and add the following variable exactly where you want your signature to appear in the email body:

%signature%

Type it manually at the bottom of your email step, after your sign-off line.

When the email sends, %signature% will be automatically replaced with the signature saved on whichever inbox is sending that email.

Frequently asked questions

Does %signature% work on follow-up steps too?
Yes. You can add %signature% to any step in your sequence, the initial email and any follow-ups.

What if I have different signatures on different inboxes?
Each inbox pulls its own saved signature. If you have two personas with different names, each inbox will insert the correct signature for that sender automatically.

My signature is not showing up in sent emails, what do I check?
Make sure the signature is saved on the inbox that is sending the campaign, and that %signature% is typed exactly as shown with the percentage signs on both sides and no extra spaces.
