How do I use CC and BCC when replying in Master Inbox?

Written by Andre Haykal Jr

TL;DR

  • When replying to a prospect in Master Inbox, you can CC or BCC any email address directly from the compose window

  • Use this to bring your main business email into the thread the moment a prospect replies with interest

  • This keeps the sales conversation going from your real company domain rather than your cold email sending inboxes

  • Click Reply on any conversation, then click Add CC or Add BCC to add your email address

Why this matters / When you'd use this

Your cold email campaigns send from dedicated sending inboxes, domains that are separate from your main business domain. That is intentional and protects your primary domain from being flagged.

But once a prospect replies and shows genuine interest, the dynamic changes. You are no longer doing cold outreach, you are in a real sales conversation. Continuing that conversation from a sending inbox like [email protected] can feel off to a prospect who is now expecting to deal with your real company.

CC and BCC lets you bring your main business email into the thread at exactly the right moment, the moment interest is confirmed, so the relationship transitions seamlessly from cold outreach to a real sales conversation, all without leaving Master Inbox.

How to use CC and BCC in Master Inbox

Step 1: Open Master Inbox

Click Master Inbox in the left sidebar. Find the conversation you want to reply to and click Reply.

Step 2: Add CC or BCC

In the compose window, click Add CC or Add BCC in the top right corner.

Step 3: Type your email address and press Enter

Type the email address you want to CC or BCC into the field and press Enter to confirm. This is typically your main business email address.

Step 4: Write your reply and send

Write your reply as normal and send. Your main business email is now looped into the thread.

CC vs BCC, which should I use?

CC (visible to the prospect)
Use CC when you want the prospect to see that your main email is on the thread. This is useful when you want to introduce yourself from your main domain openly, for example, transitioning the conversation to a colleague or account manager.

BCC (hidden from the prospect)
Use BCC when you want to loop in your main inbox privately without the prospect seeing the additional address. This is useful for logging the conversation to your CRM or keeping a personal copy in your main inbox without making it visible to the prospect. To log every positive reply automatically, use webhooks instead: How do I use webhooks to send positive replies to my CRM?

If you want to move the conversation to your main business email, use CC. The prospect sees your main address and can reply to it directly. Use BCC only for a private copy of your own message, for example for your CRM. A BCC'd address will not receive the prospect's later replies.

Expected outcome

Once you CC your main business email, the prospect's reply-all responses reach both Master Inbox and your main inbox, and you can continue from your main domain. With BCC, only your own outgoing message is copied. This keeps the sales relationship professional and connected to your real company identity.

Frequently asked questions

Can I CC or BCC any email address, or only my own?
You can add any email address. The most common use case is adding your own main business email, but you could also CC a colleague, an account manager, or a CRM inbox address.

Will the prospect see my main email address if I use BCC?
No. BCC is hidden from all recipients including the prospect. Only CC is visible to the prospect.

Can I add multiple addresses to CC or BCC?
Yes. Type each email address and press Enter to add it before typing the next one.

Does this work for all reply types in Master Inbox?
Yes. The CC and BCC option is available on any reply you compose inside Master Inbox regardless of the reply category.
