TL;DR
Buying Intent shows companies whose people have recently been researching topics related to what you sell.
It is under People Filters on the Leads page. Describe your service or offer in at least 5 words, or add topics manually.
Add Job Title and other filters on top, then export as usual.
Intent is a useful signal, not a guarantee. Use it to prioritize accounts, not to replace your other targeting.
When you'd use this
Most filters tell you who fits your ideal customer profile on paper. Buying Intent adds a timing signal: it surfaces companies where someone has recently been researching your topic online, for example through searches or videos. Use it when you want to reach accounts that are already looking, not just accounts that fit.
Step-by-step
Open the Leads page from the sidebar (or go to next.listkit.io/leads).
Click Filters and open Buying Intent under People Filters.
In What is your service/offer?, describe what you sell in at least 5 words, for example "We sell search engine optimization services". Click Search.
Review the suggested topics and remove any that don't fit your offer. To pick topics yourself, click Add topics manually.
Add People and Company filters to reach the right people inside those companies: Job Title, Seniority Level, Industry, Employee Size and company location.
Check your Net New count, then click Download Leads to export.
At checkout, Exclude previously ordered contacts is on by default, so you won't be sold the same person twice on a new order. Leave it on unless you deliberately want to export people you already have.
What counts as an intent signal
Intent signals come from real online activity around a topic, such as searches and video views. They tell you an account is worth prioritizing. They don't tell you exactly who searched or what they will buy.
Intent data refreshes regularly, so running the same search again every few days can surface new companies.
Expected outcome
You have a list of people at companies that are actively researching your topic, filtered to the roles and company profile you want, ready to export and add to a campaign.
FAQ
Is Buying Intent the same as AI Data Stream?
Yes, it is where intent data lives now. Older guides called it AI Data Stream. On the Leads page, use the Buying Intent filter under People Filters.
Can I use intent data outside the US?
Intent data coverage is mainly US companies, so results in other countries can be thin. Check your count before you export. Outside the US, standard filters such as Company Keywords and Industry usually work better.
Should I trust every company that shows up?
Treat intent as a prioritization layer. A company showing up means someone there has been active around your topic, not that they are ready to buy.
The suggested topics don't look right. What should I do?
Rewrite your description in plainer words, remove the topics that don't fit, or click Add topics manually and pick them yourself.
Does Buying Intent use credits?
No. Searching, filtering and checking counts are free. Credits are only used when you export.
