TL;DR
There is no pause button for inboxes, to stop an inbox from sending, remove it from your active campaigns
To permanently remove an inbox that is burnt or no longer needed, delete it from the inbox menu
Keep warmup on for every inbox, even ones removed from campaigns
Falling positive replies or a reply rate below 1% are the signals an inbox may need to be rested or replaced. When you see them, check the bounce rate and list quality too. The Warm-Up Reputation Score alone is not a signal.
When in doubt, reach out to support before deleting an inbox permanently
Why this matters / When you'd use this
There are two situations where you might want to stop an inbox from sending, temporarily resting it, or permanently removing it because it is no longer performing. Knowing the right action for each situation protects your campaigns and your sender reputation.
How to temporarily stop an inbox from sending
If you want to stop a specific inbox from sending without deleting it, remove it from the campaigns it is assigned to. This is done from inside your campaign settings.
Open Campaign in the left sidebar and find the campaign the inbox is assigned to. Click Edit in the campaign's row menu (or click the campaign name) and go to step 3, Campaign Setup. Deselect the inboxes you want to stop sending from, then save.
This is the right approach when you want to rest an inbox temporarily, investigate a deliverability issue, or rotate a different inbox into a campaign without losing the inbox permanently.
How to permanently delete an inbox
If an inbox is burnt, underperforming, or no longer needed, you can delete it permanently from the Inboxes page.
Open Inboxes in the left sidebar. Find the inbox you want to remove, click the three-dot menu on the right side of the row, and select Delete.
This action is permanent and cannot be undone. Only delete an inbox when you are sure it is no longer useful, a burnt inbox, a duplicate, or one that has been replaced.
How to know if an inbox needs to be deleted
Your campaign results are the main signal, not the Warm-Up Reputation Score. That score only measures the background warmup network, so it can drop to 60 to 80% on a perfectly healthy inbox. If an inbox's campaigns keep a reply rate above 1% and healthy positive replies, leave it alone, even if its bounce rate looks high. If reply rate falls below 1% and doesn't recover, check bounces and list quality, because the inbox may be burned. See What is the Warm-Up Reputation Score and should I worry about it? If unsure, contact support before deleting anything.
A note on warmup
Warmup should always stay on, for every inbox, at all times, regardless of whether the inbox is assigned to an active campaign or not. Warmup running in the background is what maintains your sender reputation over time, not just builds it during the initial setup period.
Do not turn warmup off as a way of pausing an inbox. If you want to stop an inbox from sending, remove it from your campaigns. Warmup and sending are completely independent of each other. See How does inbox warmup work in ListKit?
Expected outcome
Removing an inbox from a campaign stops it from sending immediately while keeping it healthy and ready to be re-added later. Deleting an inbox removes it permanently. Contact support to arrange a replacement. In both cases, your other inboxes and campaigns continue running without interruption.
Frequently asked questions
Does removing an inbox from a campaign affect warmup?
No. Warmup runs independently of campaign assignment. An inbox that is not assigned to any campaign will continue warming up in the background.
Can I re-add an inbox to a campaign after removing it?
Yes. Removing an inbox from a campaign does not delete it. You can re-assign it to any campaign at any time from inside the campaign settings.
Should I delete an inbox if its reputation score drops?
No, not based on the Warm-Up Reputation Score alone. Check the campaign reply rate first. If it is above 1%, the inbox is fine.
Can I recover a burnt inbox instead of deleting it?
Reach out to [email protected] before deleting. The team will review the inbox health and advise on whether recovery is possible or whether deletion and replacement is the right move.
What happens to my campaigns if I delete an inbox that was assigned to them?
Reach out to [email protected] to confirm before deleting any inbox that is currently assigned to an active campaign.
