Why this matters / When you'd use this

Cold email can feel overwhelming if you have never done it before. There is a lot of information out there and most of it assumes you already know what you are doing.

This article gives you one clear path, from the moment you subscribe to the moment your first campaign goes live, in plain language, with no assumptions about what you already know. Follow the steps in order and you will be set up correctly without needing to figure anything out on your own.

Your 5 steps to your first campaign

Step 1 - Set up your domains and inboxes

This is the very first thing you do after subscribing. Head to your Billing page, scroll down to Bundle Setup, and click Setup Now.

You will enter your main business domain, pick your sending domain names from a generated list, and set up two sender personas, a first name, last name, and inbox username for each. That is all you need to do. ListKit handles everything after that, domain registration, DNS configuration, inbox creation, and warmup all start automatically once you confirm.

The setup itself takes about 10 to 15 minutes. After that, everything runs in the background while you move on to the next steps.

Step 2 - Book your onboarding call

After subscribing to ListKit, you will receive an email with a link to book your 1-on-1 onboarding call with a ListKit campaign expert. Book it as soon as you can.

This call is where your leads list gets built. The expert will sit with you, help you define exactly who you want to target, and build and export your first list together inside the platform. They will also check that your domains and inboxes are configured correctly.

You do not need to prepare anything complicated. Just come with a clear idea of who you want to reach and what you sell. The expert takes it from there.

For more details see: How do I book my onboarding call?

Step 3 - Use the Dream 100 bonus while you wait

Your inboxes need 2 to 3 weeks to warm up before your cold email campaigns can go live. This is completely normal and happens across the entire cold email industry, it is not something specific to ListKit and it cannot be skipped.

But you do not have to sit and wait. The Dream 100 bonus gives you a training video and up to $100 in gift cards to help you start booking meetings from your main inbox right now, before your campaigns even launch.

The strategy is simple: identify your 100 most ideal prospects, send them a short personalized email from your main inbox offering a $25 gift card in exchange for a 15-minute call, and start getting conversations going while your inboxes warm up.

Most customers who follow through on Dream 100 have real meetings booked before their first cold email ever goes out.

Step 4 - Go through the Cold Email Mastery Course and the Help Center

The warmup period is the best time to build your cold email knowledge. You have time, your setup is running in the background, and everything you learn now will make your first campaign stronger.

Cold Email Mastery Course
Access it from the Education section in the left sidebar of your ListKit dashboard. It is a step-by-step course built specifically for people who are new to cold email, covering everything from what a cold email funnel looks like to how to handle positive replies. Watch it at your own pace. By the time your inboxes are ready, you will feel confident about what you are doing and why.

The Help Center
The ListKit Help Center is your reference library for everything, how the platform works, what the metrics mean, how to write better emails, how to improve your results over time. You do not need to read everything. Browse the Cold Email Training section for strategy and education, and come back to specific articles whenever you have a question.

The combination of the course and the Help Center means you are never just waiting, you are preparing.

Step 5 - Launch your first campaign

Once your inboxes finish warming up, you are ready. Head to Email Engine in the left sidebar, click Campaigns, and create a new campaign.

Here is what launching looks like:

  • Import the leads list that was built on your onboarding call

  • Use the AI Script Writer to generate your 3-step email sequence, give it your offer and your target audience and it produces ready-to-use copy in minutes

  • Connect your warmed-up inboxes

  • Set your sending schedule

  • Hit start

Your campaign is now live. From here, monitor your replies in the Master Inbox and respond to anyone who expresses interest as quickly as possible.

You are not doing this alone

At every stage of this process, you have support available:

Your onboarding call: a real expert walks you through your setup, builds your leads list with you, and reviews your scripts before you launch

Cold Email Mastery Course: in-app, step-by-step education built for beginners. Access it from the Education section in your left sidebar

The Help Center: articles covering everything about the platform and cold email as a discipline. Use it as a reference whenever you need it

VIP Slack community: a private community of ListKit customers with weekly office hours and live webinars. A great place to ask questions and learn from people doing exactly what you are doing

Intercom support: available Monday to Friday. If you are ever stuck, open the chat at the bottom right of your screen and ask

Expected outcome

Within 3 weeks of signing up, your inboxes are warmed up, your leads list is built, your scripts are written, and your first campaign is live. You went through the course and the Help Center during the wait, so you understand what you are doing and what to watch for once emails start going out.

You did not need to become a cold email expert to get here. You just followed the steps.
